Saturday, 25 June 2022 | PNS | BHUBANESWAR

In the death case of TV serial actress Rashmirekha Ojha, her boyfriend Santosh Patra appeared before the Nayapalli police on Friday.

He was being questioned by the cops regarding relationship with the deceased. But he avoided the media and did not reveal anything about the police interrogation.

Earlier, summons had been issued to Patra to appear in the police station. After the incident Santosh's whereabouts were unknown but it was said that he had gone to Bengaluru.

However, DCP Prateek Singh said police have received the postmortem report of Rashmirekha. The doctors have identified ante-mortem hanging as the reason behind her death. This is counted as a suicide case. However, further investigations would continue to ascertain the  reason behind her death.

“The IO is questioning her (Rashmirekha’s) family members and friends to find out whether she was under depression which forced her to take the drastic step,” he added.

When asked whether the viscera test of Rashmirekha was done, the DCP said, “We did not opt for her viscera test as we did not have any suspicion for that. However, all angles will be brought under the purview of the investigation.

He further said that everyone is cooperating and responsive to the investigation.

Meanwhile, a video has surfaced where it is seen that Rashmirekha is dancing to an Odia song at a pub. It is said that she had been to the pub with her friends two days before committing suicide.
