Two lakh SHGs to be formed in next one year: Maurya

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has set the target of forming two lakh new self-help groups in the next one year.

The decision was taken under the action plan of Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission.

An official communiqué released here on Friday confirmed that as per the road map prepared by the Rural Development department, Rs 1,500 crore of RF/CIF (revolving fund/community investment fund) will be provided to 3,30,000 self-help groups and about 1,300 producer groups will be formed.

A target has been set to form 28 producer enterprises/farmers producer organisations in the next one year.

The release said that an amount of Rs 196 crore would be provided by the department to 21,766 village organisations from risk prevention fund and agricultural equipment would be provided to 600 village organisations to promote sustainable agriculture. A target has been set by Banking Correspondent Sakhi to ensure financial transactions of Rs 2,400 crore in a year.
