Value added courses for Karim City College

Monday, 26 December 2022 | PNS | Jamshedpur

Under the aegis of Innovation Council of Karim City College, Department of Mass Communication and Energy Swaraj Foundation, Value Added Courses were conducted for the students of Mass Communication.

Giving information about the harm to the environment caused by the use of carbon-based energy, the subject matter expert of the program Sanjay Kumar put the apprehensions of a dire future in front of the students. It may be noted that the Energy Swaraj Foundation is a part of the action plan prepared by Professor Chetan Solanki of IIT Mumbai in the direction of making India self-sufficient in the field of energy. Known as the 'Solar Man of India', Dr. Chetan's work has been appreciated all over the world and he has received crores of rupees as a reward, which he uses to create awareness among people about energy conservation. I am doing so that people can turn to solar energy. In this course of 12 modules, in a very interesting way, Dr. Chetan has shown our personal contribution in the damage to the environment so that we can avoid being a part of the problem and ensure our participation in reducing the pollution of the environment. The target of this program of energy literacy is to reach one crore people in the first round.

Karim City College is the first college in Jamshedpur to organize this awareness program by Energy Swaraj Foundation. Under this, it was decided that under a Center for Climate Correction, work will be done to increase awareness towards energy conservation through Energy Swaraj Foundation. It will be run by the students of Mass Communication and other departments of Karim City College, in which students of different departments and common citizens will be sensitized about this issue. 55 students of the department participated in this informative programme. College Principal Dr. Mohammad Riaz said this course is necessary for all the students. The program started with a special entry by Dr. Neha Tiwari, Coordinator of Innovation Council and Head of Department of Mass Communication. Dr. Rashmi Kumari, Faculty of Mass Communication Department was also present on this occasion. Syed Shahzeb, Syed Sajid and student Tushar played a special role in making it successful.
