A young vendor identified as Yashwant Prasad was shot at in his left forearm by three road robbers who stripped the vendor of his day's earnings worth little over 3,000 rupees at Tongree jungle in between Jai Nagra and Salatuwa under the Chainpur police station on Friday around 6.30 in the evening said the officer in charge of the Chainpur police station Uday Kumar Gupta.
The three road robbers on the bike intercepted Yashwant who was also on the bike and at desi katta point asked the vendor to cough up the money.
Finding Yashwant taking time to oblige the road robbers, one of the three robbers opened fire which hurt the left forearm of the vendor. Yashwant is out of danger, said Gupta quoting the doctor.
Police officer Gupta said the road robbers could be local and police would soon arrest them.
