As the 296-km-long four-lane Bundelkhand Expressway in Uttar Pradesh was dedicated to the people by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, the hashtag #VikasKaExpressway remained the top trending topic in India on Twitter for more than five hours.
With the hashtag #VikasKaExpressway becoming the top trend, it surpassed over three billion impressions and reached over 214 million people.
The trend started after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Bundelkhand Expressway, a project aimed at giving a major boost to economic development in the Bundelkhand region.
During the grand event, Twitter and other social media platforms were abuzz with comments over the development in Bundelkhand and Uttar Pradesh with several people hailing the prime minister and the chief minister for their efforts.
Significantly, along with the hashtag #VikasKaExpressway, several other related hashtags such as #BundelkhandExpressway, #Jalaun, #UttarPradesh, concerning the same event also remained trending on Twitter simultaneously.
