Weather warning issued for 5 districts today

Even as the plains and various parts of the mountainous regions continue to experience rising temperatures, some parts in the mountains may experience some relief from the heat. While the plains and various parts of the State will continue to experience dry and hot weather conditions, isolated places in five districts may experience inclement weather. The State meteorological centre has issued a warning regarding the possibility of thunderstom accompanied with lightning/intense showers and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on Monday. Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorm is likely to occur at a few places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts whereas dry weather is likely to prevail in remaining districts of Uttarakhand. The surface winds are likely to be strong and gusty during day time at isolated places.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience mainly clear to partly cloudy sky with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 39 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively on Monday.

Meanwhile some parts of the State experienced very light rain on Sunday with Sama receiving 11.5 millimetres and Kedarnath receiving 0.5 millimetres of rain. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Sunday were 39.6 degrees Celsius and 23.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 38.5 degrees Celsius and 26.5 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 29 degrees Celsius and 16.1 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 29.4 degrees Celsius and 17.4 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
