The World Bank team led by senior urban specialist Dr Kwabena Amankwana that inspected the ongoing eight lane road project of Dhanbad along with district authorities and other stakeholders appears to be satisfied with the progress of construction.
The three member team of the World Bank that inspected the entire 20 kms stretch of the road from Goal building to Manko Math is here on a mid term review of the project .
Talking to media the team leader Dr Kwabena said ,"both contractors engaged in the project have been directed to complete entire civil work by December 31/22 so that other peripheral works may be taken up for betterment of commuters."
Dr Kwabena said, works Iike traffic signals,intersection crossings,traffic lights and other related works would be taken up soon after the civil works were over.
He said team was satisfied with the material being used for constriction by both the contractors of this Rs 415crores World Bank funded eight lane road that is first of kind in Jharkhand .
Another expert of the team Dr A Ghosh said that trees would be planted on either side as part of environmental management of the project.
Deputy commissioner Sandeep Singh who was with the team said that the world bank team is satisfied with the progress and had directed the contractors to complete remaining work by December 31 and handover sight to authorities.
Senior officials of different departments were also present during the inspection.
