Youth found dead near GF’s house

Saturday, 18 June 2022 | PNS | SAMBALPUR

The body of a youth, Ashok Sahu, was recovered near his lover’s house in the Jujumura police station area in Sambalpur district on Thursday.

Later, family members of the deceased lodged a police complaint accusing the girl’s family of killing Ashok. Police detained Ashok’s girlfriend, her mother and brother for questioning.

Ashok was in a love relationship with the girl for the last six years. Both had decided to get married. However, the girl’s family opposed their relationship. Despite repeated warnings by the woman’s family, Ashok used to meet her.

Opposing this, the woman’s family lodged a complaint against Ashok. Police summoned Ashok and his family members and reprimanded the youth.

Meanwhile, the girl’s family fixed her marriage with someone else. The marriage was scheduled to take place on June 19. Ashok’s elder brother Saroj said Ashok received a call from the girl on June 15, following which he asked his two friends to give him a lift to her house. On June 16, Ashok was found dead near the girl’s house
