A youth was chased and hacked with sharp weapons by miscreants in broad daylight in the capital city on Tuesday. The identity of the victim was yet to be ascertained.
A group of miscreants attacked the youth in Jayadev Vihar under the Nayapally police station in the afternoon. To save him from the wrath of the attackers, the youth ran for his life but the miscreants chased him and hacked him with sharp weapons.
As some locals gathered at the spot and came to his rescue, the miscreants fled from the spot.
The victim, who sustained severe injuries, was rushed to the Capital Hospital.
Getting information, the Nayapalli police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.
Though police were yet to ascertain the exact cause of the attack, it was suspected that the incident was fallout of a previous enmity.
