While eating out is fun, sometimes you want to stay at home and yet make a dish that tastes like it came stright from the best restaurant kitchen. One such dish that most people balk at making is the risotto. Follow these tips to make a lip-smacking risotto.

Don’t use cold stock. Keep the stock on simmer. Stirring the rice constantly will add air into the risotto.  slowly adding stock, you allow the rice to bump up against each other, creating that creamy starch. Like pasta, the rice should be al dente — just cooked, with a little bite to it.

If your pot is too wide, the rice will cook in a thin layer and won't be able to bump and grind enough to generate starch. The rice should be at a medium simmer throughout cooking. Save things like mascarpone and parmesan for the end.

Chopped onions and garlic add a classic flavour base to risotto. They add a hint of sweetness to the dish.

When you begin o redo your home, people will tell you that you must have a theme and stick to a pattern. But experts tell you that doesn’t have to be the case.

You don’t need to stick to one pattern. You can mix two or three prints.A word of caution — pay attention to the patterns — smaller, busier prints look best on compact surfaces like cushions. Bold, large patterns usually work well with white space around them.

If you don’t want to spend big bucks on a corner that is empty, just add a plant. They add depth and character to a room. They also add much-needed colour to the roomand bring freshness. You can place plants in earthen pots, cups, mason jars or terrariums.

Several smal objects are visually appealing than a single piece. You could arrange clusters of earthen pots in different sizes and even two pairs of cushions in different patterns.

With a border of green and pink centre, the Coleus (Pink) is a pretty plant. While it doesn’t thrive in very cold temperatures, this perinnial plant can do well, if taken care of. It thrives in cool, even moist, well-drained soil. Consistent moisture is good, but soggy conditions cause root disease.

Keep them out of the wind to avoid breakage. Coleus will not survive a frost, so either treat your plant as an annual or move it inside when temperatures begin to drop.

Most coleus plants require about 6 hours of sunlight in the morning hours with shade being preferred all afternoon.
