After a two-year COVID-induced halt, the fourth edition of a group-art exhibition Master Strokes curated by Kishore Labar was inaugurated on August 12, 2022, by Retd Justice M L Verma in the presence of several notable artists and art lovers.
It is a six-day group exhibition of paintings, sculptures and other artworks by 35 emerging and senior artists from all over India.
With over 150 paintings and 40 sculptures, the exhibition takes one through the artists' own journeys from different phases of aesthetic formulations: from being chronicles, appropriating the roles of narrator, illustrator, image makers and activists to being myth-shapers.
Different techniques, mediums and configurations have been used by the artists to constitute the presentation.
Dr Suryasnata Mohanty's abstract titled Juggernaut painted in multiple layers and free flows of colours showing a huge structural frame with a sublime giant wheel in motion, is a post-modern depiction of the unstoppable force of the cosmos.
Anita Dinesh's painting is on the light, warm and protective nature of Shiva. Ashima Mehrotra brings out the turbulence of the city with a golden heritage, while child artist Anmol Labar paints abstracts with a mature sense of colour and texture.
