The Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday inched closer to the topmost Trinamool Congress brass arresting Sujoy Krishna Bhadra one of the alleged directors of a company reportedly run by Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee.
Bhadra was arrested — late on Tuesday evening — after marathon interrogation of 12 hours during which he allegedly tried to mislead the investigators and supress facts. Also referred to as Kaku — Uncle — of Kalighat Bhadra has earlier said that Abhishek Banerjee was his "boss" and that all probes would stop at his door as no one on earth could arrest Banerjee, was found by the ED to have gone into some transactions with Shantanu Banerjee a TMC leader presently in jail for his involvement in multi-crore school level recruitment scam.
