In compliance with the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, 2,58,079 complaints related to various types of harassment against women have been resolved by the Women and Child Protection Organisation from January 1, 2023 to August 31, 2023.
Giving this information here on Monday evening, Principal Secretary, Home, Sanjay Prasad said that a total of 2,71,793 complaints were received by the Women and Child Protection Organisation (1090). Among these, 89,844 complaints were related to phone bullying and cyberbullying.
“2,58,079 complaints have been resolved and strict instructions have been issued to resolve the remaining complaints on priority,” he said.
“Since 1,81,949 complaints are related to other cases, they have been transferred to District Police, GRP and UP 112,” Prasad added.
Additional Director General of Police, Women and Child Protection Organisation (1090), BP Jogdand said that till the month of August, a total of 38195 complaints related to cyber harassment had been registered, out of which 33056 complaints had been resolved.
He further said that from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022, relief had been provided to the victims through family, friends and relatives (FFR) counseling in a total of 6307 complaints. Apart from this, FFR counseling was done in 3292 complaints till the month of August 2023. Besides, 33056 complaints related to cyber harassment had also been resolved.
