In what may be viewed as a temporary relief from the considerable rise in new dengue cases, the Health department reported 30 new cases of the vector-borne disease in the State on Sunday. The total number of active dengue cases in the State has now dropped marginally to 391. It will be recalled that the authorities had reported 91 new cases on Saturday and the number of active cases on the day was 426. According to the departmental data, the cumulative number of dengue cases in the State this season is 2,180 out of which 1,775 patients have recovered from the disease.
Out of the 30 new cases reported on Sunday, 13 are from Nainital district, 12 from Dehradun district and five from Haridwar district. The Dehradun district continues to remain on top of the districts when it comes to the cumulative number of cases with 888 cases reported so far. Similarly, there are 387 cumulative cases in Haridwar district, 365 in Nainital district, 353 in Pauri district, 63 in Udham Singh Nagar district, 44 in Chamoli district, 30 in Champawat district, 17 in Tehri district, 14 in Rudraprayag district and 10 in Bageshwar district. No cases of the disease have been reported so far in the Uttarkashi and Pithoragarh districts.
