In a tragic incident, five members of a family were killed while four others were seriously injured in Unnao. The accident occurred on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway near Lodhatikur village in Auras area when one of the tyres of the car they were travelling in burst all of a sudden. The driver lost control of the vehicle which reached the second lane and collided with another car. Five people died while four others sustained grievous injuries.
On being informed, police personnel and a UPEIDA team reached the spot and cleared the traffic jam by removing the damaged vehicles from the road.
As per reports, Dinesh Kumar Rajput, who was a resident of Barabanki, had gone to Agra with his family. They were returning from the Auras police station area when their car (Swift Dzire) went out of control and collided with another vehicle (Mahindra XUV).
Dinesh, his wife Anita Singh, sister-in-law Priya Singh, Preeti Singh and mother-in-law died on the spot while son Lakshveer (9) was seriously injured.
