The Railway Protection Force and the frontline staff of the Railways are working tirelessly to ensure safe rail travel for women, being ready round the clock for the safety of women passengers. In this series, East Central Railway is taking every matter received related to the safety of women railway passengers very seriously on Rail Madad and other social media platforms and is ensuring prompt action. In the light of complaints received on social media, a special drive was launched on 20.03.2023 to nab male passengers traveling in coaches reserved for women railway passengers. Along with this, a strict vigil was also kept on those traveling in the coaches reserved for Divyangjan.
Giving top priority to the safety of women railway passengers, in a special campaign conducted on 20.03.2023, 629 male passengers traveling in a coach reserved for women passengers under Railway Act 162 were arrested by the Railway Protection Force of East Central Railway in one day. Similarly, under Railway Act 155, 277 people were caught while traveling in a coach reserved for Divyangjan. Rs 02 lakh 11 thousand rupees were received from these people as penalty. This campaign will be continued by East Central Railway.
