Three bike-borne miscreants attacked a collection agent in a moving vehicle with a stick and looted the Activa and escaped with Rs 7 lakh cash in the dickey of the scooter at Sant Hirdaram Nagar under Bairagarh police station late in the evening on Tuesday.
The agent identified as Daulat Parwaniclaimed that about Rs 7 lakh were kept in the boot of the Activa. The agent got injured in the attack. It was told that the collection agent had fallen on the road from the moving vehicle due to the stick. By the time people came for help, the robbers fled with his Activa.
Later when police tried to trap and robbers fled leaving the Activa in Gandhi Nagar area and when the police checked the dickey money was not found in it. The police are trying to identify the robbers from the CCTV footage.
After the incident, the complainant reached the police station to lodge a complaint.
TI DP Singh said that the victim, a resident of Bairagarh (Sant Hirdaram Nagar) works as a collection agent near the water tank. On Tuesday night around 9 pm, he was going home after collecting the money and when he reached near the Golden Village in Bairagarh that three bike-borne boys who came from behind hit him with a stick on his head. Due to which the complainant fell on the roadside from the moving vehicle. During this, the miscreants fled with the Honda Activa MP04 UJ9750 of the complainant.
The miscreant had snatched the Activa by hitting in his head with a stick.
The complainant said that seven lakh rupees were also kept in the trunk of the vehicle. When the police laid siege, the miscreants fled leaving the scooter in Gandhi Nagar area. When the police searched the trunk, money was not found in it. At present, the police are looking for the miscreants with the help of CCTV after registering a case.
