Additional District Judge of POCSO Court in Mainpuri, Poonam Tyagi, died in a road mishap near Milestone-65 under Nagla Khangar police station area on Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Shikohabad (Firozabad), on Tuesday morning.
The station in-charge reached the spot and rushed the ADJ and her driver to Saifai PGI where doctors pronounced the ADJ 'brought dead', while the driver was said to be battling for his life. Tyagi was returning to Mainpuri in her car after a two-day leave. When she reached near Milestone-65 on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, the driver fell asleep due to which the car rammed into a truck from behind. The driver was identified as Sachin, a resident of Kastala police station in Incholi, Meerut.
Officials said that Tyagi’s husband was also a judicial officer and posted in the Meerut court. SP, Rural, Ranvijay Singh said the post-mortem examination was conducted at the Saifai PGI.
Meanwhile, a scooty-borne man was run over by a truck in front of ISBT in Agra. He died on the spot. The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained even as police sent the dead for autopsy. The police made efforts to ascertain the identity of the deceased, but in vain.
