Ayurvedic hospital services paralysed with strike

Wednesday, 27 September 2023 | Staff Reporter | BHOPAL

Apart from Postgraduate and undergraduate students of all Ayurveda colleges, trainee students have also joined the indefinite strike. These students are continuously demanding timely conduct of examinations and increase in stipend.

More than 450 students from Khushi Lal Ayurvedic Hospital went on strike on Tuesday and registered their protest.

Students claimed that students of all seven Government Ayurvedic Colleges across the state are currently on strike. The government AYUSH Maha Vidyalayas of the state, autonomous postgraduates, house doctors and interns are being treated with complete negligence by the government. Correspondence has been sent to the government from time to time for many years but has always resulted in disappointment.

The discrepancy is arising due to the stipend given to Ayurveda trainees (interns), home physicians and postgraduate students of Madhya Pradesh not being revised on time.

Madhya Pradesh Medical Sciences University, Jabalpur should complete the examinations and other academic activities of undergraduate and postgraduate students as per the academic calendar of the university.

Under the Government of Madhya Pradesh, new posts for Ayurveda Medical Officer should be created every year by the Public Service Commission in the combined ratio of graduate and post-graduate students obtaining degrees every year.

Ayurveda postgraduate students of the state should be provided medical leave like other states.
