Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will virtually launch the Mukhyamantri Vriksha Sampada Yojana on March 21 on the occasion of World Forestry Day.
The event will be held in village Podipa in Surguja district, an official communication said on Monday.
Divisional Forest Officer Pankaj Kamal said plantation will be done initially in 94 acres of land of 30 farmers where irrigation facilities are available.
This will follow in remaining land during monsoon months. A total of 600 beneficiaries have been selected for plantation in 1,029 acres of land in the district.
The scheme is being launched to promote commercial tree species plantation on the land of all farmers, government, non-government, semi-government, panchayats or autonomous institutions.
