The BJP on Monday staged a road blockade seeking payment for Tendu leaf pluckers and transporters within 10 days in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district. The Forest Department promised to release the payment within that period.
Former Forest Minister Mahesh Gagda led BJP workers to stage the blockade of National Highway 63. The payment has not been released for the last one year, he said.
A Forest Department official said the money would be released within 10 days.
