In a sensational murder, a brick kiln worker was brutally killed for demanding wages in Muzaffarnagar.

According to reports from Muzaffarnagar, a brick kiln worker was allegedly killed, doused with acid and dumped in a sugarcane field for demanding his wages from a labour contractor in Ghadi village, police said on Wednesday.

Brick kiln contractor Nitin Prajapati has been booked for murder along with his two associates, Manohar and Abid, on the complaint of the wife of the victim, Jansath Station House Officer Dinesh Kumar said.

According to the complaint filed by the worker’s wife, Reshma, her husband, Javed, 30, who was missing since Sunday, was found dead in a sugarcane field on Tuesday evening. She alleged that her husband’s employers had slashed his throat and dumped his body in a sugarcane field when he demanded wages.

Dinesh Kumar said that a case was registered and the police were making investigations after sending the body for autopsy.

Meanwhile in another murder in Pratapgarh, a 20-year-old girl was shot dead by her lover on the suspicion that she was having an affair with some other youth also.

The marriage of both victim and the accused was fixed and scheduled for June 25 next. The murder took place in Kathar village in Patti Kotwali area of the district on Tuesday night and the body was recovered early Wednesday morning.

The accused also tried to commit suicide after killing the girl.

According to reports, 20-year-old Karishma, daughter of Chandrabhan Singh alias Kallu of Kathar village in Patti Kotwali area, was having an affair with one Rinku Singh alias Rakesh Singh of Indra Kumar Katra Mohanganj. The family members were not happy with the affair but as Karishma was adamant they fixed her marriage with Rinku and it was to be solemnised on June 25.

Reports said that Rinku was suspicious that Karishma was also having an affair with some other youth so on Tuesday evening, he called her. Later, when Karishma did not return home till late hours, her family members launched a hunt and also enquired from Rinku’s family and learnt that he was also missing.

Both the families launched a hunt and were shocked to see Karishma lying dead in a pool of blood and a pistol lying at some distance. Later Rinku was also found lying unconscious near the Jamtali river bridge. He was taken to hospital where later he confessed to killing Karishma on suspicion of her having an affair with someone else also. He said he also jumped from the bridge to commit suicide but survived.
