Khattar orders suspension of two officers of civic bodies

Chandigarh:   Taking cognizance of the negligence in work shown by two officers of the civic bodies, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday ordered their suspension with immediate effect. Khattar while presiding over a review meeting of Nagar Darshan Portal issued an immediate suspension of Gaurav Gulia, Junior Engineer, Municipal Corporation, Sonipat and Lalit Goel,  Secretary, Municipal Committee, Julana, because of the laxity shown in the work assigned to them.   During the meeting, the Chief Minister also took a detailed review of the development work demands raised by the citizens related to ULB on the Nagar Darshan portal. During this, both officers were guilty of showing laxity in the execution of their responsibilities.  "Providing timely facilities to the common man as well as ensuring that all development works are done within the stipulated time frame is the utmost priority of the State Government. Any kind of negligence by any officers and employees will not be tolerated at any level. It is the moral responsibility of government officers and employees to discharge their duties honestly," said Khattar.

Farmers of cotton belt to get canal water from April 1: Mann

Chandigarh:  Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday reviewed the preparedness of the state government to supply canal water to the cotton cultivators from April 1. Chairing a meeting with the officers of the Irrigation department, Mann said that from April 1 canal water has to be made available for cotton crop cultivation to the farmers, adding that the water supply must be ensured in the cotton belt of the state so as to ensure that cotton cultivators are benefited in a big way. He said that it is the need of the hour to ensure that water was made available to the cotton cultivators during the sowing season.
He asked the officers to ensure uninterrupted and adequate canal water supply at the tail ends to ensure sufficient water supply for the cotton crop. He said that everyone should get the water as per their own turn so that the entire cotton belt benefits from it. Mann said that Police should be deputed to check the stealing of canal water so as to avoid any sort of inconvenience to the farmers.

Himachal CM presides over function of his alma mater GSSS

 

Shimla:  The State Government intends to bring radical changes in the education system in next ten years or so, and my first budget will be much focused on strengthening the education set up in the State, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said while presiding over the annual prize distribution function of his alma mater, the Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS) Chotta Shimla, on Tuesday.  Time is fast changing and the state government intends to keep pace with the changing system and to bring Himachal Pradesh into the category of modern States with a special focus on education sector in the budget. Education is on the priority agenda of State Government and various out-of-the-box decisions were needed to be taken to provide quality education to the students to make them equipped to face challenges in life, said Sukhu.
