Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday said that Chhattisgarh is witnessing a ‘reverse migration’ with people returning to villages from urban areas as the government has done many new innovations for rural areas and embraced pro-farmer policies.

The Chief Minister was speaking at a Public Policy Summit programme held in New Delhi where he shared his vision and thoughts along with the plans and policies of Chhattisgarh.

The Chief Minister said that innovations of Chhattisgarh have become examples in the country. He said arrangements have been made for input assistance under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana so that farmers can get the right price.

Under the Godhan Nyay Yojana, by purchasing cow dung and cow urine from farmers, fertilizers and pesticides are being made from them. Gauthans are being constructed in every village and they are being upgraded as rural industrial parks.

Small processing units like pulses mill, oil mill and mini rice mill are being set up in these areas, he said.

He added that villages in Chhattisgarh are being developed as production centers and those products are being sold in the cities. For this, C-Marts have been established.

He said 65 types of minor forest produce are procured in Chhattisgarh. By adding value to these minor forest produce, employment opportunities are being created for the tribals.

The Millets Mission in the state aims to promote the collection, production and processing of millets. By processing it locally, it is being sold widely, increasing the income of tribal farmers.
