Cabinet nod to double aid to Sanskrit schools, Madarsas

The Jharkhand cabinet on Tuesday decided to double the financial aid to madrasa and Sanskrit schools effective from the financial year 2022-23. It will cover 33 Sanskrit schools and 46 madrasas. Around 2000 teachers will be benefitted by this.

Sanskrit schools and madrassas without finance used to get Rs 1.80 lakh every year, with cabinet decision they will get a grant of Rs 3.60 lakh. This amount has been earmarked for primary and middle level institutions. On the other hand, Sanskrit schools and madrassas of primary cum high school level used to get Rs 3.62 lakh till now, but now they will start getting Rs 7.20 lakh.

The Cabinet also gave its nod to change the examination pattern for the recruitment of Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs). As per new pattern candidates will have to secure 30 out of 100 marks in Hindi as qualifying marks. Earlier, the qualifying marks were 40. However, the qualifying marks will not be added in preparing the merit list. Also, the CDPO examination paper consisted of general studies of 150 marks, which has been changed to two papers each consisting 100 marks. The interview will carry 50 marks.

Briefing the media about the decisions, Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel said that the government has decided to change the examination pattern of CDPO exam so that large numbers of students are benefitted.

In today’s cabinet meet 31 proposals were given nod which included a time extension given to the one-man judicial commission to submit its report regarding corruption in the appointment and promotion of staff in the Jharkhand assembly.

The cabinet also gave its nod to increase the ex-gratia payment to bring the dead body of the migrant labourers to their home who die a natural death or due to any accident. The government will pay Rs. 25000 to the family of such deceased labourers.

The government brought a regulation for the rice mills in Jharkhand. Earlier, rice mills were bound to do 30 per cent of its milling work for the government. Now under the new rule, the ratio has been increased from 30 per cent to 50 per cent whenever required, else, the operational rights will be seized.

The cabinet gave its consent to the reappointment of AK Bapuli as director of state’s only forensic science laboratory. The cabinet gave its consent for the revised pension for judicial officials effective from January 1, 2016.

Also the cabinet gave its nod to transfer 6.69 acres of land at Bhusur in Ranchi to the Union Ministry of Home on the payment of Rs. 16.36 Crore  for construction of CRPF headquarter.
