The 15th meeting of the standing committee of the Central Zonal Council (CZC) was organised in Dehradun on Saturday. The meeting was chaired by the chief secretary of Uttarakhand SS Sandhu. Addressing the meeting, Sandhu said that the CZC plays an important role in coordination between centre and states, discussions on economic and social development and others. In the meeting, discussions on good practices of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh were held. In the meeting the issue of promoting the local produce among the States of CZC was raised and discussions on giving encouragement to Mid Day Meal (MDM) were held. It was emphasised that the banking facility in the five km radius should be made available in the remote villages and increased use of Bharat Net 1, 2 and 3 projects for enhanced mobile connectivity should be made. Detailed discussions on many issues of national interests were held. The secretary, government of India, Anuradha Prasad, chief secretaries of Chhattisgarh Amitabh Jain and Uttar Pradesh DS Mishra ( virtually) along with additional secretary international council secretariat, Ashish Srivastava and others attended the meeting.
