CM orders officials to act swiftly on corruption complaints from public

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed officials to ensure that swift action is taken on complaints received from citizens regarding corruption. Chairing a meeting with officials at the circuit house in Kathgodam on Tuesday, Dhami directed the Kumaon commission and inspector general to ensure strict action against anyone found guilty of corruption. Any citizen can inform about corruption in the State on the toll free number 1064, he said.

The CM said that from the security point of view, it is important to put a check on the anti-social elements reaching Uttarakhand from outside the State. The Police, Forest and other departments need to remain alert for this purpose. Intensive checking campaigns should be conducted from time to time for this purpose, he added. Dhami further stressed that officials should discharge their responsibilities with honesty and eagerness while considering the redressal of public grievances their duty. Strict action will also be taken agains the official concerned in case of negligence in official works. He said that the officials should provide impetus to development works by establishing communication with the citizens and public representatives. Dhami told the officials that they should pick up phone calls made by the general public and public representatives while resolving public grievances after hearing their issues with a positive outlook. Reviewing the departmental works, he said that any department should not shift its responsibility on another department as this also results in delaying the works. Expressing dissatisfaction at slow execution of development works, he stressed that negligence will not be tolerated in work. He told Forest department officials to coordinate with officials concerned to ensure simplified resolution of development projects pending due to objections raised by the Forest department, so that the development works can be expedited. District Panchayat chairperson Bela Tolia, Haldwani mayor JPS Rautela, MLAs Diwan Singh Bisht, Ramsingh Kaida, Mohan Singh Bisht, Kumaon commissioner Deepak Rawat and others were also present in the meeting.
