Congress candidate Bajrang Mahato filed his nomination for the Ramgarh bye-election on Tuesday. All the veteran and senior leaders of the Grand Alliance were present during his nomination filing.

Before filing nomination as the Congress candidate from the seat Mahto reached Chhinnamastika Temple in Rajrappa. At the same time, senior Congress leaders also reached the temple of Maa Chhinmastika Temple to pray for his victory where they worshiped and took Goddess’ blessings.

During this, Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) In Charge, Avinash Pandey, Congress Legislature Party Leader, Alamgir Alam, JPCC Chief, Rajesh Thakur, Agriculture Minister in the State Government, Badal, Health Minister, Banna Gupta, MLA, Deepika Pandey Singh, former MLA Bandhu Tirkey, former MP and ex-Union Minister, Subodh Kant Sahay, Senior Congress leader, Vinay Sinha and others were present.

Mahto is the husband of former Ramgarh MLA, Mamta Mamta Devi. The nomination for the by-election has started from January 31. Today is the last date for the nomination process. Scrutiny will be on February 8. Along with this, the date of withdrawal of nominations is till February 10. Polling on this seat will be held on February 27. The result will be announced on March 2.

Ramgarh's Congress MLA Mamta Devi was sentenced to 5 years rigorous imprisonment in the IPL firing case. Devi was disqualified by the state assembly after being convicted in a criminal case. The matter is of the year 2016. In which there was a movement against the IPL management for the demands under the banner of Nagrik Chetna Manch.
