DPS Ranchi celebrates Annual Day of Primary Wing

Wednesday, 08 February 2023 | PNS | Ranchi

Amidst sparkling lights and a myriad of hues, DPS Ranchi, Primary Wing, celebrated its much awaited Annual Day for Classes I & II on Tuesday at the  Vivekanand Auditorium wherein the students took the audience aback with their phenomenal and awe - inspiring performances.

Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad (High Court of Jharkhand, Ranchi) graced the show as the Chief Guest for the evening.

The musical fiesta by the students was the first programme to set the mood for the evening. It was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and bouquet presentation to the revered dignitaries.

On the occasion, Principal Dr Ram Singh, emphasised on how DPS Ranchi envisions for its students to lead by example and form meaningful connections with our rich cultural heritage. The world may witness massive advancements and be prone to constant change, but what remains unchanged is that the human race will always be governed, defined and distinguished by its values. Thus the school chose to reinstate the transformational power of human virtues through the Annual Day theme- ‘Kissa Kahaniyon Ka’ , fictional retelling of legendary tales.

Right after the Principal's address, the students of class I enacted stories of Akbar and Birbal through a dramatic presentation themed ‘Prakriti : The Eternal Bliss’. The theatrical skills and the confidence with which the young thespians delivered their lines, amazed the audience.

The show saw students of Class I giving spectacular performances enriched with scintillating music, vibrant costumes, brilliantly choreographed dances and props.

The Chief Guest was impressed by the impeccable performance showcased by the students. He was astonished to observe the young children narrating scripts with perfect articulation. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest emphasised that it is important to understand the spirit of education and knowledge of science and technology along with moral values. He appreciated the efforts of the school in providing quality education and cultural values to its students.

The next highlight of the evening ‘Dharohar : The Heritage’  presented by  the budding artists of Class II was a peek into the ancient Indian collection of stories ‘Panchtantra’ that have been retold over several years but still retain their meaning, imparting valuable life lessons. It was a mesmerising display of tales with a strong emphasis on the value of relationships, cooperation and alliances. The various events happening throughout the day were immaculately woven into a kaleidoscopic tapestry with the threads of diligence and determination of the students and staff culminating into a grand spectacle. It was an occasion of celebration, and festivity. The grand event culminated with Vote of Thanks by the confident comperes of the show.
