The Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College-based Regional Cancer Institute (RCI) in Raipur will organize a marathon ‘Canethon 2023’ on February 4 from the Marine Drive to RCI to mark World Cancer Day.
The awareness campaign against cancer will also see a painting competition and a felicitation event, an official communication said.
One hundred cancer patients who recovered after treatment will be felicitated. It includes a two-year-old to a 80-year-old across the state as well as from Madhya Pradesh and Odisha.
Doctors, nursing staff and others working in RCI and Dr BR Ambedkar Medical College Hospital will be also honoured.
The Regional Cancer Institute organized special cancer screening at Mahasamund, Rajnandgaon, Kanker and Raipur Medical Colleges till Friday as part of World Cancer Day.
