--Probe on if it’s suicide or accident
: In a shocking incident, a third year MBBS student of the Fakir Mohan Medical College, here, was found dead under mysterious circumstances near his hostel. It is alleged that he had committed suicide by jumping off the roof of a five-storied academic building.
While the cause of the mishap is yet to be ascertained, the Industrial police, after registering a case, have begun an investigation. They are looking for clues to ascertain whether it was an accidental fall from the building or a case of suicide.
However, the father of the deceased said that he had met his son on Thursday and talked with him. He was under mental stress for some reason for quite some time, he alleged.
The deceased, Hiteshnu Das was a resident of Bhimpur village under Sadar block of the district. As per reports, Hiteshnu was found lying in a pool of blood close to the academic building suggesting he fell off the fifth floor, resulting in his instant death. Although he was rushed to the hospital, he was declared dead.
The body was handed over to his family members after post-mortem. The father of the deceased, Chandrakanta Das, was in police service and has recently retired.
