The Punjab Technical education department has roped in IIT Ropar, NIT Jalandhar and NIPER for annual affiliation inspection of various institutions of the state.
Technical education minister Harjot Singh Bains said that the Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training (PSBTE&IT) has been granting affiliations annually to various Polytechnic and Pharmacy institutes in the State as per guidelines of AICTE & Pharmacy Council of India respectively.
He said there are around 100 polytechnics and 109 pharmacy institutes in the State of Punjab & UT Chandigarh. Bains said after discussion with the chairperson Punjab state Board of technical education Seema Jain, department has taken an initiative to involve reputed institutes of the State like IIT Ropar, NIT Jalandhar and NIPER for the annual affiliation inspection of various institutes this year.
Bains said it shall improve the quality and fairness of annual affiliation inspections carried out by PSBTE.
