Jharsuguda district-level Youth Festival was organized on Tuesday with a total of 400 contestants of the district participating in various competitions in the premises of the Jharsuguda Women's College.
Swastika Purohit of the Belpahad College won the first prize in photography, while Roshan Padar of Women's College second and Sumi Behera got the third prize. In elocution contest, Sumit Gupta of Brajrajnagar College won the first prize, Sana Khan of Women's College got second place and Swagatika Sahu got the third prize. In the folk dance competition, Krishna Chhatri Niwas of Government Women's College topped, while Saraswati Ladies hostel won the second prize and Brajrajnagar College finished third.
In the drawing competition, Pragati Meher won the first prize, Sonia Kusura the second and Upahar Naik won the third. In poem writing, Saumya Karta, Fouzia Firdausi and Khushi Mitra bagged first, second and third prizes respectively.
Jharsuguda ADM Prabir Kumar Naik joined as chief guest on the occasion while Jharsuguda Municipality Vice Chairman Raju Panigrahi, District Information and Public Relations Officer Ajay Kumar Jena, Field Publicity Officer Rameshwar Naik , Women's College Management Committee chairman Puranchandra Pradhan attended as guests of honour. College president Dr Saroj Kunwar presided while Hindi Professor Dr Meena Soni coordinated.
