Jharkhand gets Rs 5,271 crores for Railways in Budget 2023-24

There has been a massive increase in Budget Grant for railways in West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha in 2023-24. Addressing a press meet through video conferencing from New Delhi, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that there has been complete transformation of Railways in the last 8 years and highlighted budget grants pertaining to railways in different States for the current financial year.

In this current budget, the total outlay for railways modernization and expansion in Jharkhand is Rs.5,271 crores against the average outlay of RS.457 crores during 2009 to 2014. In Jharkhand and Odisha 57 stations each will be re-developed.

Meanwhile, addressing a Press Meet at Ranchi Railway Divisional Headquarters on Friday, DRM Pradeep Gupta informed that Jharkhand has been allocated Rs 43,957 Cr for New line/ Doubling / Gauge conversion of 36 projects; 2,906 kms. Various Railway Stations will be upgraded and new railway lines to be laid during the financial year.

Soon the face of railway stations in Ranchi, Dhanbad, Hatia, Tatanagar and Jasidih will be changed in this financial year. Apart from this 57 stations like Balsiring, Bano, Barajamda Jn, Barkakana, Basukinath, Bhaga, Bokaro Steel City, C haibasa, Chakradharpur, Chandil, Chandrapura, Daltonganj, Dangoaposi, Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, Gamharia, Gangaghat, Garhwa Road, Garhwa Town, Ghatsila, Giridih, Godda, Govindpur Road, Haidarnagar, Hatia, Hazaribagh Road, Jamtara, Japla, Jasidih, Katrasgarh, Koderma, Kumardhubi, Latehar, Lohardaga, Madhupur, Manoharpur, Muhammadganj, Muri, N.S.C.B. Gomoh, Nagaruntari, Namkom, Orga, Pakur, Parasnath, Piska, Rajkharswan, Rajmahal, Ramgarh Cantt, Ranchi, Sahibganj, Shankarpur, Silli, SINI, Tatanagar, Tatisilwai, Vidyasagar also upgraded in this financial year.

Apart from these 15 railway stations including Daltonganj, Nagar Untari is going to change. Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, the Central Government has made a provision in the budget to change the appearance, beautify and increase passenger facilities of major railway stations of the country. Under this scheme, the face of Nagar Untari railway station is going to change.

Apart from Daltonganj, Nagar Untari, the appearance of 15 railway stations of Dhanbad Railway Division (RRD) will change. Under the Amrit Bharat station scheme, preparations are on to shed the Ganges of development at selected stations. Railways have been given the task of polishing these stations by making a master plan by the central government.
