JMM criticises BJP for misleading people on legal issues

Wednesday, 27 September 2023 | PNS | Ranchi

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), on Monday, heavily criticized the State unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for misleading people on legal issues. The party said that BJP lost its political base in the State and therefore its State unit leaders are making baseless allegations on JMM.

Addressing a press meet at the party headquarter in the State Capital, JMM General Secretary cum Spokesperson, Supriyo Bhattacharya said that following Supreme Court’s instruction JMM Working President and Chief Minister, Hemant Soren filed an online appeal in Jharkhand High Court. There were some defects in the application. In reply the HC said that to file the appeal in fresh copy of the correct application, he added.

“It was seen in the past that on November 10, 2020 BJP filed a Writ Petition in Jharkhand HC. There were 16 defects found in that application. Similarly, former Chief Minister, Babulal Marandi filed a Writ Petition in Jharkhand HC, in this application also the HC found three defects but JMM did not create any hue and cry because it is normal procedure it can happen. But BJP's behaviour presently is not good. A displaced Chief Minister is comparing a Chief Minister with an animal. A very normal person is saying that he is buying time. When they experienced that they can’t fight politically they started levelling baseless allegations,” he added.

Hitting BJP hard on Women’s Reservation Bill, the JMM Spokesperson said that they are in complete grip of fear so they are bringing Women Reservation Bill in the parliament but BJP should tell how many women candidates it will nominate in upcoming State Assembly elections in the five States. He said that it is only to mislead people now BJP is saying that it will be only implemented after census then delimitation, which is a dream.

“Chief Minister Hemant Soren is going to bring a new PESA law in Jharkhand. Once again the Gram Sabha will have rights over water, forests and land. The fear of this has now started troubling BJP and its corporate allies. The entry of BJP's friends and the corporate world into the forests and lands will stop. The entire BJP is scared of this because BJP never wants that tribals, dalits, farmers, poor, backward and minorities should get their rights. Because of this the people of BJP are scared. They cannot compete with us politically, that is why sometimes they keep calling the investigating agencies and sometimes through their loud mouthed leaders. Due to all these reasons, Jharkhand and tribal Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren have come to the target of Delhi. But we are not going to be afraid of this. The public will answer everything. Elections of 2024 are coming,” said Bhattacharya.

Bhattacharya also advised Babulal Marandi to not speak filthy languages because it is not his cultural identity. He said that Babulal should not speak in Ramesh Bidhuri’s language because people of the State will not tolerate it and they will show him the way in 2024.
