Letter of intent awarded to 10 developers for solar plants

Selected developers under "Kusum-C" scheme letter of intent was awarded to 10 selected developers for setting up 126.4 MW solar plants for 22 on Tuesday in the auditorium of "Urja Bhawan Complex", Chairman of Energy Development Corporation Girraj Dandotia distributed the letters  and Managing Director Karamveer Sharma was present on the occasion.

The selected developers would set up 126.4 MW solar plants for 22 substations for solarization of agricultural feeders under Prime Minister Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthan Maha Abhiyan “KUSUM-C” scheme.

During this program, the detailed information of the Kusum-S scheme was informed by the Chairman of the Corporation, Girraj Dandotia. It was told by him that under this scheme, the pumps operated in the state would be solarized and the extra electricity generated from it would be sold to the MP Power Management Company Limited at the fixed rates.

Under this scheme, solar power plants can be set up on private and government land. It was told by him that work is going on at a fast pace in the field of renewable energy in the state. Under this, work is currently in progress on a 1500 MW solar project in Neemuch, Agar, Shajapur and 600 MW floating solar project in Ankleshwar. Apart from this, a solar project of 1400 MW capacity will be established soon in the remote area of Morena district where the land is unusable.

In this series, work on a storage project of 950 MW capacity is also under consideration. It was told by him that the state of Madhya Pradesh would be leading in comparison to other states in giving concrete shape to the resolve of the Prime Minister of the country n 05 vital elements.

It was told by him that under this project, agriculture feeder has to be supplied with solar energy and electricity has to be made available during day time for irrigation and to organize the life style of the farmers. Along with this, according to the information given by him, solar pumps are being set up for irrigation with the aim of making the farmers of the state self-reliant, in which state and central government grants are also being given.

During the program, M.P. Managing Director of Energy Development Corporation Karmaveer Sharma said that under the Kusum-S project, there is a provision to solarize 2.70 lakh (1250 Da) grid connected pumps in the state. Under this project, 30 percent central assistance amount (Rs. 1.05 crore per MW) or 30 percent of the actual cost, whichever is less, has been provisioned by the Government of India.

Under the project, the energy sector of Saachi city's domestic, institutional, industrial and agricultural sectors will be reimbursed through solar parks, solar rooftops and various off-grid based renewable energy plants. This  Saachi    SolarCity is proposed to be inaugurated on May 03, 2023 by the Prime Minister.
