A workshop on seed production and farming of genetically-improved fish varieties was organised in the National Freshwater Fish Brood bank at Kaysalyaganga. Over 200 SHG women were trained for their livelihood in the first phase under the PMMSY. The Ekta Trust in collaboration with NFDB and BJP District Training Cell organised the programme.
Senior scientist Dr Manas Sinha demonstrated the breeding and seed production of Amur common carp. Senior executive Smriti Rekha Pati explained the tech knowhow of fish farming.
The workshop was inaugurated by BJP State president Samir Mohanty. BJP district president Babu Singh, State training cell coordinator Rabi Moharana, NFDB Board Member Sukanta Panigrahi along with trust chairman-cum-training ell sub-coordinator Diptirekha Pattnaik attended the event.
