Serving jail at Bhopal Central Jail on the charges of sexually assaulting a woman Mirchi Baba was was attacked by other inmates, he sustained serious injury in his eye, incident surfaced after Baba's lawyer Srikrishna Dhausela went to meet him in jail.
Advocate Dhausela told that through Kamal Sharma, Baba's son-in-law, came to know that he wanted to meet me. After this, on May 26, he went to jail to meet Baba. This is also recorded in the jail register.
Baba told that on 23 May two prisoners entered the barrack. The prisoners attacked Baba and was beaten brutally. At the time of meeting he noticed that his left eye had been injured.
The lawyer told that RTI has been filed to get information from the jail administration in this regard. It has asked which prisoners attacked Baba and wWhat cases are going on against the criminals who have attacked. Till now there is no response from the jail administration. The lawyer has questioned the security of the jail. He has also demanded CCTV footage.
Vairagyanand Giri alias Mirchi Baba was arrested on August 8, 2022 from a hotel in Gwalior. A 28-year-old woman from Raisen had registered a case of rape on Baba at the women's police station in Bhopal.
The woman had told in the complaint that it has been four years since her marriage. Mirchi came in contact with Baba because she has no children. Baba claimed to be a child after worshiping. In the name of treatment, the woman was raped by feeding her intoxicating pills.
Women's police station has presented a charge sheet against Mirchi Baba. The 566-page charge sheet was presented in the court of Judge Pooja Pathak. In this the allegations leveled against Baba have been found to be correct. The charge sheet includes testimony of 21 people, recovery of Bhabhoot, Sabudana tablet, FSL report, details of call details.
