Peace, progress and prosperity ultimate aim of the state govt: CM Mann

Wednesday, 01 March 2023 | PNS | Chandigarh

Maintaining that the Government would make every effort to further strengthen the ethos of communal harmony and brotherhood in Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday said that the people, especially the media, should ignore those who are trying to destabilize Punjab by inciting the youth.

“Peace, progress, and prosperity are the ultimate aim of the State Government and this can be fulfilled only with the active support and cooperation of the people,” said Mann, while Addressing the gathering while handing over recruitment letters to veterinary officers.

The Chief Minister’s assertion came at a time when the state was hit by a slew of incidents impacting the law and order situation, especially the recent clashes between the police and the supporters of self-proclaimed Khalistani sympathizer Amritpal Singh in Ajnala.

Slamming previous governments for making the state’s youth aimless, Mann said that by handing over 26,797 job letters, aam Aadmi party (AAP) led State Government has taken step forward towards making youth gainful thereby making them an active partner in the state’s socio-economic growth.

“The sole criteria for selection in this entire recruitment process is merit and the entire procedure is being followed in a transparent manner. Now, these youth have become integral part of the government and now they should serve the people with missionary zeal,” he said, adding that such a whopping number of jobs in merely around 11 months reflect the state government’s commitment to ensure the well-being of youth and opening new avenues of employment for them.

At the same time, the Chief Minister called upon the youth to be grass rooters instead of being parachuters. “The grass rooters are those who arise from ground to conquer the entire world…For these hard-workers, only sky is the limit. Whereas the parachuters come from sky and are doomed to fall on ground later or sooner,” he added.

40 services under ‘Sarkar Tuhade Dwaar’

The Chief Minister added that the State Government is mulling to launch its flagship program of ‘Sarkar Tuhade Dwaar’ under which the residents will get 40 citizen centric services at their doorsteps. “This scheme will be available online via app and the residents will get the benefits of this scheme just on a phone call,” he Mann, adding that it will enable the residents to get the citizen-centric services at their doorsteps in a smooth and hassle free manner.

Govt Promoting Allied farming Activities

Mann said that AAP Government is working overtime to promote allied farming activities in the state to supplement the income of the farmers. “The State Government is also laying major thrust on the food processing sector and processing plants for sugarcane, garlic, kinnow and other fruits will soon be set up in the state,” he added.
