Considering the protracted problems being faced in the traffic system in Dehradun, the Doon police have sought information about the problems and suggestions from the general public to help resolve the traffic issues. According to the police, the high number of vehicles in Dehradun district and ongoing construction works in various places have affected the traffic system. Considering this, the Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh and superintendent of police (Traffic) Sarvesh Panwar have asked all the traffic police personnel to evaluate the problems being faced during their duty. Further, mediapersons, businessmen and the general public have also been asked to provide suggestions on which action can be taken immediately to bring about improvement in the traffic system. The citizens have been requested to share these suggestions within three days on the Facebook page of the Dehradun traffic police or the WhatsApp number of the traffic inspector- 7060982870. The police stated that efforts will be undertaken to execute measures in coordination with other departments concerned on the basis of the suggestions received from the public.
It is pertinent to mention here that the high number of vehicles and ongoing civic works in Dehradun have exacerbated the traffic congestion and other issues being faced in the management of traffic in the provisional State capital Dehradun in recent months.
