Prakash slams Govt over attacks on BJP leaders

Thursday, 12 January 2023 | PNS | Ranchi

BJP State President and MP Deepak Prakash reached Medica Hospital today and met Gumla District BJP Kisan Morcha General Secretary and former block president Sumit Kesari, who was seriously injured in firing by the criminals yesterday. His condition remains serious.

State General Secretary and MP Aditya Sahu and Balmukund Sahay were also present along with the State President.

Prakash spoke to the Superintendent of Police Gumla and DIG of South Chhotanagpur division  over the phone demanding the arrest of the criminals behind the incident. He told the family members that the entire BJP family is standing with them in this hour of crisis. He assured all possible help to the family members.

Keshri was the ex-block president of BJP and the secretary of the party’s Zila Kisan Morcha.

Police said Keshri along with his nephew Utsav Keshri (20) was at his fly ash brick plant site located along the Bilingbira road in Palkot block headquarters on Monday. At about 9.30 pm, two miscreants carrying arms entered the site by scaling the boundary wall of the plant and took both of them captive at gunpoint. The two were then taken to some distance on foot and Utsav was asked to bring a motorcycle from the plant.

Fearing that Utsav may be abducted, Keshri pleaded with the criminals not to take his nephew captive. “He (Utsav) was later let go with a warning not to reveal the incident to anyone or else they will kill his uncle (Keshri),” a police officer said.
