Chhattisgarh Food and Civil Supplies Minister Amarjeet Bhagat underlined the need to protect the interests of the consumers.
He was addressing the first meeting of the Chhattisgarh State Consumer Protection Council held on Friday at the Secretariat in Nava Raipur, an official communication said. Nominated members and representatives of the council participated.
He said the government has been taking proactive action for the protection and promotion of the interests and rights of consumers by constituting the Consumer Protection Council.
He said under the Consumer Protection Act, the Council will give advice regarding the rights of consumers.
