Pulmonary rehabilitation has not received its due recognition till now, especially in India. To the best of our knowledge, there is no dedicated day/week/month to observe in context of Pulmonary Rehabilitation till date.
We have, for now, followed the American Association for Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (A.A.C.V.P.R.) observes pulmonary rehabilitation week from the second Sunday of March each year. This year, it takes place from March 12 to 18.
On this occasion we wish to create awareness in the society about the benefits of pulmonary rehabilitation by conducting a CME on various aspects such as nutrition, exercises, psychological support and recent advances like Cardio Pulmonary Exercise (CPET) in Pulmonary Rehabilitation. This will be the first of its kind being done in India.
