Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will on Thursday inaugurate a three-day Ramayan Festival at the Ramleela Ground in Raigarh.
The event will start under the chairmanship of Culture Minister Amarjeet Bhagat.
The presentations of Ramkatha based on Aranya Kand will be performed by national and international groups.
The Aranya Kand is a part of Ramcharitmanas and Valmiki Ramayan, which narrate the days of Lord Rama's exile.
The festival will feature performances by Ramayan troupes from Indonesia and Cambodia.
On each day, there will be a group recitation of Hanuman Chalisa. Kelo Maha Arti and Deep Daan will be organized for the closing ceremony.
The event will feature performances by eminent artists. Stars from Indian Idol and Saregama, Shanmukha Priya and Sharad Sharma, will take part on June 1.
Singers Baba Hansraj Raghuvanshi and Lakhbir Singh Lakha will perform on June 2. Bhajan singer Maithili Thakur and poet Kumar Vishwas will render the story of Lord Ram on June 3.
