Rawat’s protest in Gairsain pointless, says BJP

Questioning the reason for former chief minister and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat staging a protest at Bharadisain, the Bharatiya Janata Party has alleged that this step is against the proposed budget session of the Vidhan Sabha in Gairsain. Responding to questions of the media persons, the BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that the government is committed to development of Gairsain. The budget session of the Assembly is also slated to be held in Gairsain, considering which the reality of the politically motivated demonstration of the former chief minister is known to the public.

Chauhan further said that it is the BJP government which made Gairsain the summer capital of Uttarakhand and is implementing the development schemes for that region in a better manner. “The government has already announced its intention to hold the budget session in Gairsain in the past. It is known that in the past the Assembly session could not be held there due to focus on arrangements of the Char Dham Yatra after the Covid-19 pandemic. What is the point in demonstrating there now that the government has announced its intention to hold the session in Gairsain? This step raises questions at his intentions and makes one wonder whether he supports the budget session in Gairsain or not,” said the BJP State media in-charge.

Responding to allegations leveled by the Pradesh Congress Committee president Karan Mahara regarding corruption in the recruitment process, Chauhan said that it is the BJP government under which strong and unbiased action is being taken against corruption. During the term of the Congress governments, corruption was discussed and on top of that it was also sheltered. Due to this, corruption has reached the roots of various systems and the government under chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is working to eradicate this corruption. Chauhan said that unbiased, strict and transparent action has been taken against those guilty of corruption irrespective of their seniority or connections. The law acted against those found guilty of corruption and the BJP also removed them from its membership, he added.
