The 77th meeting of Regional Railway Official Language Implementation Committee was organized by East Central Railway, Headquarters/Hajipur under the chairmanship of Anupam Sharma, General Manager on Monday. While presiding over the meeting, Sharma made a thorough review of official language promotion and said that the way Indian Railways is the lifeline of the country and connects this vast country geographically, in the same way official language Hindi weaves the Indian public in one thread.
He said that the country which does not have any language of its own, that nation is dumb. For these reasons, the demand for making Hindi the official language was first raised by non-Hindi speaking people. The importance of official language Hindi can be understood from this fact. Amidst all the adversities in our country, the official language Hindi is continuously moving forward on the path of progress. We often underestimate the importance of language, but we must understand that the tradition and culture of a nation is realized in the language. If we have to enrich our tradition and culture while preserving it, then first of all we have to enrich our language and this will be possible only when we give Hindi its proper place as a working language.
The GM gave certain instructions to increase the use and spread of official language. He asked to make necessary efforts to fulfill the targets set in the annual program year 2022-2023, ensure compliance of all members section 3(3), all officers must give one dictation daily in Hindi, leave application and tour program should be submitted in Hindi only, try to write/issue maximum comments/orders in Hindi on e-office and while inspecting all officers should also inspect official language progress.
On this occasion, for doing excellent work in the official language, the Administration Department was awarded the Inter-Departmental Official Language Mobile Shield by the GM, which was received by Sr DGM Sujit Kumar Mishra. Sharma presented certificates to 06 officers/employees awarded with Railway Board Individual Cash Award (Base Year-2020) on this occasion.
It is noteworthy that this meeting was held to review the quarter ending December-2022. High officials of divisions, factories etc. under East Central Railway were present in this important review meeting of official language usage, they informed the committee regarding the status of official language promotion in their departments, divisions etc.
While conducting the meeting, Chief Official Language Officer cum Principal Chief Personnel Officer J.K.P. Singh said that the Department of Official Language is grateful to the General Manager for guiding the future while reviewing the present of Official Language Hindi. He welcomed the heads of departments and representatives from the divisions including the Additional General Manager.
