Respite from heat is possible in next 4-5 days

Saturday, 27 May 2023 | Staff Reporter | BHOPAL

Conditions are favorable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of South Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea and Andaman & Nicobar Islands during next 2 days.

No significant change in maximum temperature likely over most parts of the country during the next 5 days and no respite from heat is on the cards.

During May 30 to June 01, 2023, respite from heat is possible due to rain or thundershowers at a few places at many places. It was very hot in the day in Bhopal, but by evening it rained for over 30 minutes in several parts of the city.

A cyclonic circulation in lower tropospheric levels persists over North Pakistan and adjoining Punjab, a trough in the lower tropospheric levels runs from north-west Uttar Pradesh to south Bangladesh. These weather systems are very likely to move over Northwest India by May 26.

Moisture incursion from Arabian Sea to North West India would be witnessed during the same period. A trough is running from Southeast Madhya Pradesh to Coastal Karnataka in lower tropospheric levels. Strong south-westerly winds from the Bay of Bengal towards northeast India prevail at lower tropospheric levels.

On Friday, the day temperature remained below 40 degree celsius in most of the cities. It drizzled in the evening in Bhopal. Strong winds were witnessed in many districts on Thursday night. Meteorologists say that the weather pattern will remain the same for the next one week.

The temperature dropped due to thunderstorms in the night. The lowest temperature reached 19 degrees in Gwalior.

Strong winds continued to blow on Friday morning as well. Due to the less effect of the existing system, the chances of rain are also less, but from May 29, a system is becoming active again.

Due to this, the beginning of June will also be due to thunderstorms. At the same time, the entry of monsoon will be done from June.

Met told that Western Disturbance is active in northern India, but its approach is less. The effect is not much in Madhya Pradesh. Because of this it did not rain on Thursday. Another Western Disturbance is coming in May 29. It can remain active till the first week of June.
