Unidentified miscreants looted more than Rs 10 lakh from an ATM at Hatasahi under the Lingaraj police limits in Bhubaneswar late on Sunday night.
According to reports, the looters broke the machine using gas cutter and decamped with the cash. Though some locals informed police regarding the suspicious activity of the robbers, the criminals left the place before the arrival of cops.
As per an official, cash had been loaded in the ATM on Saturday. The miscreants looted around Rs 1.60 lakh from the machine after spraying chemicals on CCTV cameras of the ATM.
Police started investigation into the matter while efforts were on by cops to identify and trace the looters by examining footage of CCTV cameras installed near the ATM kiosk.
