The Chhattisgarh government has ensured            drinking water to the          protected special backward Pando tribe in the state.

An official statement said a water pipeline was laid in Durgapur region, which is dominated by the Pando tribe, and a dependent village of Umjhar Gram Panchayat in Korea district.

This area is home to 47 Panda tribe families. It was a challenge to ensure access to quality drinking water but the target was achieved under the Jal Jeevan Mission, the statement said.

People from the tribe have expressed their              gratitude to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for providing them drinking water.

The Jal Jeevan Mission Yojana provides a sufficient quantity of drinking water by making tap water reach every household.
