SAIL BSL Organised Customer Meet - 2023

Once Mahatma Gandhi said “A customer is the most important visitor on our premises. He is the purpose of it. He is not an outsider of our business. He is part of it”. This is a philosophy well worth absorbing and putting at the heart of all customer interactions during recently organized Customer meet 2023 by Bokaro Steel Plant where more than 60 BSL customers from across the country participated in the customer meet organized on 28 January and got information about the plant's production system, technology, facilities and product range. In the morning the customers took a tour of the plant and observed major production units such as SMS-New, SMS-2, Hot Strip Mill and CRM-3. Detailed information related to BSL was made available to the customers through a presentation organized at Bokaro Niwas in the afternoon. During this programme, Amarendu Prakash, Director-in-charge of BSL, VS Chakravarthy, Director (Commercial) of SAIL, Executive Director of BSL and SAIL-CMO, Chief General Managers of BSL and other key officials were present.

Addressing the customer meet on online mode, Soma Mondal, Chairperson, SAIL thanked the customers for their long association with SAIL and their faith in SAIL brand. She called upon the customers involved in the customer meet to openly give their feedback regarding the quality of the products, delivery schedule and related aspects so that these can be further improved. DIC Prakash in his speech expressed gratitude to all the Esteemed customers present in the customer meet and during the discussion segment requested them to give their feedback regarding BSL products meeting their expectations so that desired improvements can be brought as per requirement. Notably DIC reiterated that BSL is committed to continuous improvement in quality, packaging and delivery of its products to meet the needs of its customers. Talking about the proposed capacity expansion of BSL, he said that by the year 2027, the production capacity of the plant is expected to increase from the current 4.6 million tonnes to about 7.2 million tonnes and also BSL will produce and would be able to supply even more thin gauge strips to its customers seeking customer specific demands .

Director Commercial Mr. Chakraborty said that BSL supplies about 3.5 lakh tonnes of steel to customers on an average every month, which is about 20 to 25% of the total SAIL supplies. Addressing the customers, he said that BSL is also regularly developing new steel grades which shows its commitment towards the customers. At the beginning of the customer meet, BK Tiwari, ED (Works), BSL welcomed everyone and requested for the feedback of the products . Later, MC Aggarwal, ED (Sales & ITD) of CMO also addressed the present customers.Notably During the discussion, the customers asked questions related to BSL products, which were answered by the senior officials present. In the interaction session, the customers put forth their views regarding different value added products, newer segments of market, quality and delivery. The Senior Officers of SAIL BSL discussed the issues in threadbare and assured them to take time bound measures on the feedbacks . In the end, Anil Kumar, Chief General Manager (Services) of BSL proposed the vote of thanks.
